Elders are men who have been selected by the congregation to serve as spiritual leaders.  These men make themselves available to visit, counsel, and care for the members.  They are the church's "pastors."  The Elders also provide direction and oversight for the ministry of the church.

Bruce Helm

Bruce and Donna Helm began attending Westend in 1970.  They make their home in Perryville, KY where they  raised two children and are now the proud grandparents of three young boys.  Bruce works as a farmer and is a partner in Helm & Reynolds Realty & Auction Company.  Bruce has served the congregation as an Elder since 1999.  He oversees the finacial and administrative activities of the church as well as our missions and community outreach.

John and Donna Marcum began attending Westend in 2003.  They reside in Stanford, KY where they raised two daughters who have blessed them with eight wonderful grandchildren.  John has worked in mechanical engineering for 35 years and is presently an Industrial Sales Coordinator in the material handling industry.  John has served as an Elder since 2005.  He oversees our administrative & planning activities as well as the spiritual development programs of the church.

Elme and Marla Thomas began attending Westend in December 2007.  They live in Danville where they raise their two children, Lauren and Matthew.  Elmer is a high school Principal and Marla is a middle school Guideance Counselor.  Elmer has served the congregation as an elder since September 2009.  He oversees children's education, Fellowship and outreach.

Tommy and Lynn Vick began attending Westend in 2008 after being relocated with Tommy's employer.  They reside in Hustonville, KY.  They have two children and one grandson.  Tommy works for Wal-Mart and is presently the manager of the store located in Stanford, KY.  He has been with Wal-Mart Stores for nine years.  Tommy has served the congregation as an elder since September 2009.  He oversees worship and benevelence.

Rob and Rebecca Kernodle resides in Perryville, KY. They have three sons, Caleb, Luke, Joshua and Jacob.  Rob serves in worship, ecucation and fellowship.

Gerg and Melanie Taylor began attending Westend in 2005.  They both have lived in Boyle County their entire lives where they are currently raising two boys; Kyle and Seth.  Greg has taught Design and Engineering Technology courses for the past ten years at the Garrard Count Area Tech Center.  Prior to this, he was a CADD technician in the mechanical department of Mason & Hanger Engineering in Lexington.  Greg has served the congregation as a deacon since September 2009.  Greg oversees the food pantry and assist in the prison ministry, community outreach and spiritual development programs.
