Our Purpose

Our purpose is very simple.   Our ultimate desire is to bring people to the realization that God's love and grace are greater than their sin.   Our strategy for accomplishing this is equally simple.   It consists of the following principles:

Principle 1:   Walk the Talk

At Westend Church of Christ we believe the life we live is the greatest witness to our faith.   We seek to live in such a way that our actions speak louder than our words.   We are convinced that the best way to help people see the love and grace of God is to experience it through the lives we live.   At Westend Church of Christ we don't simply want to talk about God's love, we want to live it among the people in our community.

Principle 2:   Speak the Truth in Love

At Westend Church of Christ we believe in the absolute truth of God's word and will not compromise it.   We are committed to speaking the truth because only the truth can set a person free.   However, we recognize that the truth is to be spoken in love.   We are not self-righteous Christians eager to condemn the world.   We are sinners saved by God's grace, and just as Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but to save it, we go into the world with the message of truth to bring the light of salvation to all people.

Principle 3:   Pray Continually

We believe that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).   Therefore we call on Him daily seeking His blessing in all that we do.   We believe that God moves when His people pray and that His people should not move until they have prayed.   We are convinced that there is power in prayer that can change us and change our world.  Therefore we are committed to praying for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
